The visa types explained
Portugal offers both short-term and long-term visa pathways. Understanding which one fits your situation is the essential first step toward your move.
Short-term vs long-term
For applicants who wish to stay in Portugal for more than 90 days but less than one year. You will initially be granted a visa valid for up to 1 year with multiple entries into Portugal allowed.
For applicants who wish to stay in Portugal for more than one year. You will initially be granted a visa valid for 120 days with up to two entries into Portugal, followed by an appointment with AIMA to acquire a Temporary Residence Permit.

For remote workers and digital professionals employed by or providing services to companies outside Portugal. Requires proof of remote work and income of at least four times the Portuguese minimum wage.
